Re: 3rd March 1959, Tuesday
Red West, Lamar Fike & Elvis drove to Munich in Vernon Presley’s Mercedes with chauffeur Joseph Wehrheim,
to visit Vera Tschechowa who lived at Fresenius Street 40.
The unannounced visit from Elvis & his companions created quite a stir.
Vera's mum, Ada Tschechowa, told them off – saying that their unannounced visit was a tad rude.
Elvis apologized a thousand times & then explained that they had traveled directly from the barracks in Friedberg to Munich &
had not had breakfast yet.
Vera asked Elvis to go to the kitchen & explain to the housekeeper how to make a meal, because the housekeeper had never prepared an American breakfast before.
Later that morning, Elvis & Vera went to Bavaria Movie Studios, located in Geiselgasteig – a district of Grünwald/Munich.
For this outing, Ada Tschechowa lent Elvis and Vera her white Karman Ghia Cabriolet.
In the afternoon, Elvis, his entourage, & Vera, drove out to Lake Starnberg – about 20 km out of Munich.
Once again, fans and photographers were in the right place at the right time.
Interestingly there are hardly any pictures showing Red West & Lamar Fike.
It is not known whether Elvis did actually cruise around the lake in the boat or whether he just posed for the photographers.
The boat was an electric boat because motor boats normally for environmental reasons are forbidden.
In the evening, the couple return to Vera's home.
to visit Vera Tschechowa who lived at Fresenius Street 40.

Re: 3rd March 1959, Tuesday
Copy from ELVIS DAY BY DAY by Peter Guralnick and Ernst Jorgensen
p.133
March 03 Tuesday
Elvis travels to Munich with Red and Lamar to visit Vera Tschechowa, an eighteen year old actress whom he met in January while doing publicity shots for the March of Dimes. Elvis buys up all the tickets to the play in which she is performing with a small experimental theater group, sitting through a German-language performance that neither he nor Red nor Lamar can understand. In the evening they go out to dinner with various theatrical friends of Vera, and then to the Moulin Rouge, a striptease club.
The book has the visit to the film studios on March 4 and the boat ride at Lake Starnberg on March 5, 1959
