Re: 30th April 1956, Monday
I thought this happened a week earlier on the 23rd April 1956 - opening night.
Do we have the date wrong for the 23rd?

In various places, these 'Liberace' photos are dated either the 23rd or the 30th April, 1956.
Elvis' show opened on the 23rd for 2 weeks, so that might have led to some confusion.

There's logic there.
I'm 99.9% sure Liberace was "invited" to sprinkle a little publicity onto Elvis' opening night. His appeal was to the classic Vegas visitor more than Elvis' appeal at the time.
But you're suggesting some have backdated the date using the original length of the engagement from when Elvis actually ended his engagement.
