F1 Bahrain - George Russell

Post by Alan » Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:28 pm

I've read the papers - "Russell proves Hamilton isnt great but its the car" quotes everywhere.

Surely that proves Russell isnt great either then?

What makes Hamilton great - consistancy perhaps?
Well lets hope Russell isnt that consistant, otherwise he'll end up consistantly the nearly man every race.
Russell was unlucky when it came to the messed up pit stop, that one was out of his hands, but he was back in the race after the wheel change and it was the left rear puncture that then made him pit again and come out near the back.
We can never know if it was Hamilton whether Hamilton would have taken a different racing line avoided the debis and never got a puncture.

But to those who say its purely the car - well where was tried and tested Bottas?
If it's a case of anyone can drive the Merc so long as they just steer it and point it in the right direction - then why has Bottas not shared the points equally?

Well done George - brilliant effort and very unlucky.
Well done Lewis - they dont hand out 7 World Championships just because your team mate isn't as good.
Also, when you won last week you must have already caught the virus just not had all the symtoms come out.
So in one season you won a race with Covid, & won with a race with three wheels touching the tarmac. (Yeah, it's just the car that's great) lol

Can't argue against the fact that Hamilton is certainly consistent !

Must be more than just 'the car' !
