After Baz's new film, EPiC, is that the end?
What a finalé if it is.
The CD format is slowly winding down.
Nothing new left in the can.
Everything has been re-re-released.
Sounds like doom and gloom.
Attic finds? Maybe, but nothing to capture the world's imagination.
Even if the Pied Piper was found right now there'd be not much more than a raised eyebrow globally.
Yet, for some magic X formula reason a guy who had an international career for 21 years, who's been dead for the last 47 years still has a massive following.
Never mind trying to find out why, it'd be like finding out how the magician did it, we'd be disappointed. But how can it continue successfully, be managed with innovation, stay on trend with new generations when there's nothing new to use after Baz's, what will it be, a Rockumentry?

In a way, the seeds needed to attract youngsters now & in the future are already sown.
Loads of clips turn up of him, on Facebook etc, singing from films & shows .
These are often of short duration & show him at his best !
They are often of a 'zoomed in' nature & in excellent audio & video quality.
Potential fans will look at these & think "He's good, I'd like to see & hear more !"
I know that some over-familiar clips shown in this truncated manner make me think "Wow - I'd forgotten how good he was then !"

Re: After Baz's new film, EPiC, is that the end?
That's so true. The tic-toc generation of a 20 second attention span must find those quite appealing.
I guess that's the kind of answer that fits my query.
Perfectly.
What would I call it, "New Elvis" ? Not sure I'd be as much of a fan because I like to get absorbed, but I can still be an old fan (very old).
So for the original type of fan it's finally come down to a finalé later this year on which to bow out gracefully and to be left with the treasure trove we have whilst watching new fans get into Elvis in their way.
Not too bad. It still carries on. (A bit like I don't want an electric car but it's the only way to keep cars going)

I imagine it will depend on what Baz delivers. If he's going in the direction I believe he's going... a documentary, that just happen to include some previously unseen concert footage, then that will still leave alot of the hardcore Elvisphiles "blue-balled" and still holding out hope for full, or close to full concerts down the line. Not to mention, Sony will still find "new" ways to milk the Elvis cash cow dryAlan wrote: ↑Fri Jun 20, 2025 7:06 amWhat a finalé if it is.

No, Baz has confirmed there will be a further fan release (potentially around 4 hours) !! I'll try and find the clipprostx23 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 5:51 amI imagine it will depend on what Baz delivers. The term he uses "concert film" seems like it could be open to interpretation, but I'll remain cautiously optimistic. The 4 hour thing they were discussing refers to the ELVIS directors cut. I'd like to see that happen.Alan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 8:04 amNo, Baz has confirmed there will be a further fan release (potentially around 4 hours) !! Could be, the film is there for even longer, but that's a heck of a lengthy release.
The Searcher was 3 hours and 17 minutes
