Memphis State University, campus blood drive on November 8, 1954.

Mayor Tobey would die of a heart attack less than a year later, on 11th September, 1955.

      ALL IN ACHORD - Mayor Frank T. Tobey (4) took a hand in the Memphis State College week-long Red Feather drive during which students and faculty joined in a series of jamborees designed to raise funds for the Memphis-Shelby County Community Chest campaigh. The college will report results of it´s drive today. Listening to the Mayor´s strumming ability are Barbara Burnette (1) of Lula, Miss., Elvis Presley (2), radio-tele-vision star, and R. M. Robinson (3), MSC dean. The six-week city-county drive for $1,238,525 ends Wednesday.
