Apologies..

For not updating the site the past week or so, or not to the same degree I'd normally be here doing stuff.

In my old age I decided it would be a good idea to dig up my drive and try laying some brick weave down.

It's at the half way stage. I've dug up approx 6 tons by hand and filled two skips.
The lower membrane is in place.
The outer sides I've cemented down, bar one.

To do:
Cement last side.
Get delivery of 5 tons of sub base.
Screed it, then whacker plate it down.
Screed of sand 10mm proud.
Lay bricks.
Lay more bricks.
Keep laying them bricks.
Whacker plate the bricks down.
Brush kiln dried sand into gaps.

Getting ideas like this at my age is not good. Is there anything I can take to prevent these moments of madness?

Hah-ha what are my options for the "age groups"?
Old
Older than old
Very old
Colin

Nah, I'm old, just old lol. I turned 66 a few days ago.

I have a few tons of sub base turning up soon and a whacker plate on hire. I'm exhausted thinking about it

The 'age groups' you've listed there aren't in the right order !

Less than 20 minutes!
I was wondering how long it would take, but I hadn't reckoned on that quick :D

Is the wacker packering done and dusted?

Are you still vibrating up and down, like a jack hammer?

LOL

I have been whacking my whacker today.
I have whacked my sub base down, laid another membrane on that and pinned it in place with some sand
Tomorrow is screed day.
Lay some blocks.
Then whacking again!!

Erm.... had a bit of a problem with that one.
Decided that my garage needed to be a man cave.
All 3 walls have been battened out in 3 x 2.
The side door and window combi is coming out and a sliding patio door going in.
Up and over door coming out and a roller shutter door going in.
Water / Electric and waste is in.
Floor leveling compound is down and floor partly tiled so far.
Finish tiling floor today
I'm doing the wiring tomorrow.

42" TV (my old living room one) will feature.
We will be having karaoke nights (locals voted for that!)
Optics will be a part of the decor and would love to find a mini bar going cheap!

Sounds good !

For me, my whole house is my 'man cave'...
