Re: 26th June 1968, Wednesday
Colonel Parker's birthday party in the studio during the making of the Singer special; Elvis sang a different version of It Hurts Me for Colonel Parker:
IT HURTS ME TO SEE THE BUDGET CLIMB UP TO THE SKY
IT HURTS ME WHEN FINKEL GIVES ME TROUBLE
WHEN I SEE ALL MY MONEY GO
JUST FOR ONE GODDAMNED OLD TV SHOW
IT HURTS ME THE WAY THAT FINKEL SPENDS MY DOUGH
THE WHOLE TOWN IS TALKING THEY'RE CALLING ME A FOOL
FOR LIST'NING TO BINDER’S SAME OLD LIES
FINKEL CALLS ME SAYS I’VE GOT NO CHOICE
THEN HANGS UP THE PHONE IN THAT DAMNED ROLLS ROYCE
IT HURTS ME WHEN MY TEARS START TO FLOW
THEY PROMISED ME SURE I WOULD GIVE IN
THAT I WOULD – THAT I WOULD
NEVER GO WRONG – BUT TELL ME THE TRUTH
IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR ONE LOUSY TIRED OL’CHRISTMAS SONG
IT HURTS ME TO SEE THE BUDGET CLIMB UP TO THE SKY
IT HURTS ME WHEN FINKEL GIVES ME TROUBLE
WHEN I SEE ALL MY MONEY GO
JUST FOR ONE GODDAMNED OLD TV SHOW
IT HURTS ME THE WAY THAT FINKEL SPENDS MY DOUGH
THE WHOLE TOWN IS TALKING THEY'RE CALLING ME A FOOL

Between 10 am & 5 pm, there is a complete run-through of the show.
The birthday party for Colonel Tom Parker is held later.

With Elvis wearing that attire I assume.
But what is "the show" that they run through for 7 hours?
I assume the still photos and promotional shots with Elvis wearing the same attire are also taken on this day?

Re: 26th June 1968, Wednesday
I never knew they did that. 7 hours? "the show" was mostly not created as the sit down shows were, well, whatever they'd be.
In fairness I've only ever seen the result, the filming of what was filmed, the outtakes and the intakes (is there such a word?) so I'm a bit ignorant of what else other than pre-recorded music that was done.
